Dance/USA, the national service organization for professional dance, seeks
to advance the art form of dance by addressing the needs, concerns, and interests
of professional dance. To fulfill this mission, Dance/USA offers a variety of programs
for its membership and the dance field, as well as works with organizations within
and outside the arts field with whom common goals are shared.
Dance/USA was founded in 1982 following the release of a report by the Task Force
for a National Dance Organization, which called for the establishment of a national
service organization for professional dance. Dance/USA's members include over 400
ballet, modern, ethnic, jazz and tap companies, dance service and presenting organizations,
individuals, and other organizations nationwide.
